1 pound lean ground beef
2 cups chopped onion
1 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 cup olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon dried basil
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 teaspoon brown sugar
2 teaspoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon coarse salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a medium bowl, combine ground beef, onion, green pepper, olive oil, garlic, oregano, salt, basil, parsley, brown sugar, chili powder, parsley salt, brown sugar, chili powder, parsley salt, and cumin. Mix together and form into 1/2 inch slabs. Place on a cookie sheet.
Bake in preheated oven for about 40 minutes, basting occasionally with water. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly.
