1 large onion, diced
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
3 cups water
1 teaspoon dried basil
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 1/2 cups bread flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons cold water
1 1/2 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons cider vinegar
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Stir garlic and ¼ cup water into skillet; stir until sugar is dissolved. Add basil, salt, oregano, 1 ½ cup bread flour, baking powder, baking soda and water. Pour mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan.
Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven; flip the crescents and place them in the oven. Bake for an additional 10 minutes. Let cool.
In a large bowl, combine butter, vinegar and 1 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil. Mix well. Pour dressing mixture over crescents. Bake for an additional 20 minutes. Cool completely before cutting into thin slices.
