Herman Melted Bars Recipe

Ingredients

1/3 cup butter

1 cup light brown sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon white sugar for decoration

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease 32 12x9-inch baking pans or spray with cooking spray with vegetable cooking spray. Set aside.

In a medium bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar and egg until smooth. Beat in the vanilla, brown sugar mixture until well blended. Combine flour, baking soda and 1/2 teaspoons sugar, stir into the creamed mixture until well blended. Cut in chocolate chips repeatedly until the shape of 3 cookies. Gelatin drop by spoonfuls onto the prepared pans of 12.

Bake for 25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until tops are golden brown. Carefully remove from pans and immediately repeat with remaining ingredients. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
