Chocolate Pie Recipe

Ingredients

2/3 cup white sugar

1 cup chopped pecans

1/2 cup chocolate syrup

1 cup water

1 cup chopped dates

1 cup butter

3 eggs

1 1/2 cups SWEET Chocolate Chunk Sugar

2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

3 teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, heat pecans and chocolate syrup, stirring occasionally, until pecans brown lightly. Remove from heat, and stir in water. Cool slightly.

Place chocolate chunk sugar in dark glass or metal bowl with microwave attachment, or in another medium bowl, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Mix chocolate mixture with orange juice; pour into pie crust.

Roll into pecan sized balls. Place in pie pan. Chill overnight.

Beat softened butter and lemon zest in large bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs and chocolate mixture. Fold in chocolate chunks. Spoon pie into prepared crust. Chill 3 hours before serving.
