1 cup butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1 (1 ounce) square unsweetened chocolate syrup
1 1/2 cups nectarines, pitted and sliced
4 cups packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup orange juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups raisins
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup flaked coconut
1 cup chopped dates
3 tablespoons margarine
Heat butter and sugar in a large saucepan. Stir over low heat until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate syrup and nectarines. Beat in brown sugar, eggs and orange juice. Sift together the flour, margarine and vanilla add to syrup mixture. If desired, refrigerate batter.
Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Cookies should have a smooth surface. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
