Chocolate Yummy Bars Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar

2 cups white sugar

1 egg

3 egg yolks

4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

3.5 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup chopped almonds

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

To Make Frosting: In a small bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar and white sugar until smooth and creamy. Beat in egg and egg yolks until combined. Beat in flour, baking soda and baking powder; gradually blend through, scraping bowl frequently. Stir together cake mixture, sugar and egg yolk mixture. Mix egg yolk mixture into dry ingredients until blended.

Spread each Yummy Bar about 1/4 cup thick. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting with fresh chocolate syrup.
