3 honey buns
4 bananas, peeled and sliced
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/3 cup water
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Place the honey buns on a baking sheet. Place the sliced bananas in separate wide quiet pans. Pour syrup over fruit.
Using a 1/3 cup of the syrup mixture, use half of the buns. Cover the entire pot and insert a strip of waxed paper on the underside.
Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and bake an additional 15 minutes.
Dissolve maple syrup and water in a large pitcher or blender, or put 1 cup syrup mixture into a large saucepan and add melted butter. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Pour syrup mixture over buns. Serve hot or cold.
