1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 cup minced onion
1/4 cup minced garlic
2 cups dry bread crumbs
3 tablespoons Italian seasoning
3 egg whites
3 teaspoons dried oregano
3 (4 ounce) cans tomato sauce
Place ground beef, onion, and garlic in a large bowl and turn to coat.
In the same bowl, mix bread crumbs, Italian seasoning, egg whites, oregano, tomato sauce, egg whites. Form mixture into 1 ounce balls, place on the bottom of a large glass or aluminum baking dish. Cover with foil to keep warm.
Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 8 to 10 minutes, or until meat thermometer registers 165 degrees F (80 degrees F).
