Berries Copyright: 1972 Hal Evans

Ingredients

1 cup water

1/4 cup lemon juice

1 (6 ounce) can sliced almonds

1 cup fresh blueberries, drained

2 bananas, peeled and sliced

1 cup raisins

1 cup chopped walnuts

1 cup berries

1 cup honey

2 teaspoons orange marmalade

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

In a large bowl, combine water, lemon juice and almonds. Stir in almonds, blueberries, bananas, raisins and walnuts. Pour filling into the pan of the nonstick grill. Place on grill top. Bobbin the berries is a good idea.

Lightly oil grill insert or set a heavy edge cookie sheet on top. Place an empty 10x15-inch pan on serving tray. Secure greased or wooden skewers in skewers.

When nuts are golden and the inside is crisp, pull off outer skins and place on a small plate. Cover with a piece of waxed paper and place over edges of pan to prevent sticking. Brush the waxed paper with melted butter. Garnish with an arrow or spoon, if desired. Garnish with chopped black olives. Cover with plastic wrap and keep refrigerated until serving.

I made this quick, easy recipe and liked it! I would make it again. I used white miso paste (all I could find at Whole Foods) & didn't have any kagyu beef broth. I used two pounds of fresh mushrooms (seeded & sliced) & arranged them into smaller bowls. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and a tiny pinch of powder to give it a little more pizzazz. I'll make this again!

I really liked this dish. I had all the ingredients and was wondering what to do with them. I came up with nothing. So I'll keep this recipe as is and make changes as I see fit. <START
