Chocolate Cake III Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1 cup chocolate syrup

2 tablespoons milk

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 egg

2 cups sour cream

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9 inch round pan. Sift together the flour, baking powder and chocolate syrup. Set aside.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter, vanilla and 2 cups of sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the 2 cups flour mixture, stirring just until incorporated. Pour batter into prepared pan.

Bake in the preheated oven for 80 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool completely before frosting. Allow cake to cool completely before frosting. Frost and frost with sour cream to glaze creamed side.
