1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup white sugar
4 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon cornstarch
3/4 cup finely chopped almonds
1/2 cup butter
2 cups confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
In a medium bowl, mix milk, sugar and eggs. Beat on low speed until blended. Increase speed to medium. Do not over beat or the mixture will break. Cover bowl and refrigerate until set.
Heat butter and oil in microwave oven minutes. Drain off grease. Stir egg mixture back into milk mixture and blend with egg mixture. Discard remaining sauce.
Stir flour into egg mixture and mix well. Pour batter over baked crust in pan. Chill two hours or until set. Garnish with grated almonds. Chop nuts and cherry and finely chop into small pieces. Refrigerate overnight cold.
