Argyle Soup in a Jar Recipe

Ingredients

1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle water

1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle orange juice concentrate

1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage

1 (8 ounce) package shredded Cheddar cheese

Directions

In a small saucepan, bring water to a boil. Stir in orange juice concentrate, lemon-lime soda, and Cheddar cheese. Cover the pan and refrigerate for 10 to 12 hours.

Remove casings and clean jars. Place jars on a rack in the refrigerator. Place the last jar on top of jars. Wipe any grease off of jars. Cover jars with plastic wrap. Refrigerate leftovers, a few hours in advance.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 3 quart medium saucepan.

In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil. Place a lid on jar, and steam for 1 to 2 minutes. Remove lid and pour water into jars. Cover, and steam 10 to 15 minutes. Pour wine over all. Place in oven for the first couple of hours. Remove and let stand for 10 minutes.

Remove jars from oven. Place in cooler racks to cool. Cool completely and refrigerate 3 or 4 hours before serving.
