Country Biscuit Recipe

Ingredients

1⁄2 cup packed brown sugar

1⁄2 cup white sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon almond extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup milk

2 teaspoons butter

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup packed brown sugar

1 cup white sugar

Directions

Mix together brown sugar, white sugar and vanilla extract. Beat in milk, butter butter and brown sugar. Pour mixture into prepared baking pan.

Bake in preheated 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 minutes, or until tester inserted in center comes out clean. Cool, cut into two slices and store in an airtight container. Serve hot or cold.

I originally made this as a hot fruit dressing for a pork roast at Easter. It was simple enough--I used a jar of raspberry jam between the rolls of fudge. It was a little too sweet, so I ended up with a strained orange juice.* I would have made this again, but I had to doctor it slightly. I used about half the amount of orange juice, and found that I stuffed the dough full enough to only use one roll of fudge. I will make this again!
