Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

1 (1 ounce) square unsalted butter, softened

1 cup packed light brown sugar

1 cup white sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons lemon zest

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon almond extract

1 cup butter, softened

1/2 cup packed light brown sugar

1 tablespoon lemon juice

2 eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

In a medium bowl, whip the butter and brown sugar until mixture is smooth. Mix in the lemon zest, salt, lemon extract and almond extract. Stir well. Mix in the butter mixture until well-combined. Pour into two 9 inch-square baking pans; seal edges of pans.

Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for about 30 minutes in the preheated oven.

While the bread is baking, combine the sauce and brown sugar. Stuff pans with lumps of butter and brown sugar mixture. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
