1 cup butter
2 cups white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, or to taste
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup raisins
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Melt butter in a large bowl over medium heat. Stir in sugar, then whisk in vanilla. Mix in eggs, one at a time, mixing frequently. Beat in flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. Gradually mix in the sifted ingredients.
Sift together the raisins and nuts and place them in a large mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto a cookie sheet.
Bake for 5 to 7 minutes in the preheated oven, or until lightly browned. Cool before cutting into squares. Frost with icing reindeer hearts or frosting for your favorite candy bar.
