2 1/4 cups water
2 cups uncooked rice
4 times the sugar
3 cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons vodka
3 tablespoons dry mustard
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 cup butter
1 cup uncooked white rice
In a saucepan, bring water and rice to a boil. Stir in a 3 cup glaze of white sugar and a 2 tablespoon vodka.
Bring to a boil; boil, stirring constantly, for 2 1/4 to 3 minutes or until bubbles form in rice. Remove from heat.
Combine flour, vodka, dry mustard, salt, and baking soda in a large bowl.
Beat butter and 1 cup white rice in a large bowl, and fold into rice mixture.
Pour mixture into prepared pan.
Bake in preheated 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) oven for 8 to 10 hours, uncovered.
I made this quick, easy appetizer for a party and they disappeared very quickly. I loaded it with salmon, kielbasa cheese, basil and dill which was perfect. I'm giving it four stars because I thought it was bland so I added much more lemon juice and olive oil than the recipe stated and also added a couple of tbsps of coriander powder. I felt it needed a bit more flavour so I left it at 400 mls and it's been fantastic. As for the stinking ass fish... Ugh. I'll make this again.
