1 (2.6 ounce) package orange flavored Jell-O mix
1 cup boiling water
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 large apple
4 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon instant butter
In a small bowl, sift together the gelatin mix, boiling water and cinnamon. Cover and allow gelatin to sit in the boiling water for 1 hour.
Grate apple flesh and juice. Place sliced apple in the center of a 9 inch springform pan. Brush with milk and butter and sprinkle with gelatin. Wait for liquid to evaporate and pour apple filling over gelatin. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
When easy to spread with a rubber spatula, dissolve gelatin cubes in boiling water. Place apple filling on insides of candy dish. Heat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C.)
Remove apple wedge from pot. Steam in microwave for 5 minutes. Drain off juices in small bowl. Transfer juice to plastic container for storage.
