Apple Pie V Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1 cup white sugar

1 cup applesauce

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

2 eggs

1 1/2 cups mashed cooked white rice

1 4 ounce can sliced pecans

5 tablespoons butter or margarine

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

In a separate bowl beat brown sugar, 1 cup white sugar and appleauce until smooth. Mix eggs and rice in a separate bowl.

In a large bowl, mix pecans, butter and applesauce until well blended. Stir thoroughly. Pour mixture evenly into pie crust. Place foil into pan and make sure two sides are touching.

Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes, then turn out onto the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.

Remove pie from oven, brush foil with butter and let cool for 5 minutes, then remove pie from foil and cool completely. Then cut into squares.
