1/2 cup butter
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 tablespoon milk chocolate syrup
1 cup slivered almonds
1 cup sliced almonds
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar and baking soda. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the milk, then the vanilla, mix gently. Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake in preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into center of pan comes out clean, about 1 hour. Remove from oven and allow to cool, about 1 hour.
In a small bowl, mix the chocolate syrup and milk chocolate syrup. Spread over loaf of bread. Arrange almonds on top of bread, and sprinkle with slices of almonds. Chill for at least 1 hour before slicing.
