1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1 3/4 cups orange juice
3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9x13 inch pans.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in orange juice, sugar and brown sugar. Combine the flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder; stir into the orange mixture. Finally, fold in lemon juice and vanilla extract. Drop the egg mixture by the spoon mixture into the prepared pans.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
