2/3 cup soy sauce
1 cup white sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons shallots
3 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
4 slices bacon
1 onion, chopped
1 tablespoon chopped green bell pepper
1 leaf celery, halved and quartered
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar for garnish
In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, sugar, shallots, 3 teaspoons sugar, vegetable oil, bacon, onion, green pepper, celery, green bell pepper, celery and vinegar vinegar. Mix to coat. Chop meat.
Heat 3 tablespoons ketchup into a heavy saucepan. Stir in vinegar, ketchup, white vinegar, salt, sugar and sugar. Bring to a boil and keep warm.
Stir this into the boiling ketchup mixture. Remove from heat and stir in bacon, onion, celery, green bell pepper and celery and green pepper. Add celery mixture and whisk; whisking constantly, blend all ingredients together until well blended. Pour over chicken. Garnish with green pepper and celery soup base.
