Carostina Recipe

Ingredients

3 small fruits, sliced in rounds

1/4 cup butter, softened

2 tablespoons white sugar

2 tablespoons honey

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup sliced almonds

1/4 teaspoon spicy compound

Directions

In a small bowl, mix the butter, sugar, honey, lemon zest and vanilla extract.

Make a well in the center of one half of each peel. Place one slice into the center of each fruit, then roll around. Garnish with some of the almonds. Refrigerate until serving. Serve with syrup or daily use coffee sauce.

I'm not sure why but this was a little too cardamomy. Maybe because I used fresh cardamom but other than that it was good. Heaped on the rice and meat, stuffed it, then lined it with aluminum foil. Seemed like the right amount of sauce but I ended up with barely ½ cup raisins. They were tender-smooth but not skipping a beat. Definitely making this again.
