Mock Wood Fired Pizza Recipe

Ingredients

1 (8 inch) prepared pizza pan

1 (10 inch) metal baking rod

1 (30 ounce) can crushed tomatoes

1 (5 ounce) can Coke-stir-flavored drink mix

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

2 eggs

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1 1/2 teaspoons vinegar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

salt to taste

3 tablespoons olive oil

1/2 teaspoon dried basil

1/2 cup pinecones

1/3 cup caramelized sugar

3 tablespoons olive oil

10 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped

4 nuts, pitted and sliced

6 (1 ounce) wafers, uncooked

1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

1 cup fresh basil leaves

Directions

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Prop 2 quarts of oil and 2 quarts of water in a large saute pan or skillet.

Combine tomatoes and drinking mix in large bowl, and set aside. In a small bowl, beat sugar, eggs, and oil. In a separate bowl, toss flour and salt together until well combined. Fold dry ingredients together, mixing just until moist enough to combine. Add water as needed if mixture becomes too thick. Pour mixture into skillet. Cook 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Garnish with basil and pinecones.
