1 (4 pound) whole chicken
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons paprika
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon dried sage
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon dried basil, divided
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken until golden brown, then remove from skillet to a paper bag. Drain on paper bag. Mix in flour, 2 teaspoons paprika, salt, cayenne pepper, paprika, sage, chili powder, and paprika. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto dinner rolls. Cook 10 minutes or until golden brown.
Roll chicken into patties. Fry in oil until golden brown. Drain on paper bag. Drain on paper bag. Place on a plate for 20 minutes. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
