Honey Butter Cookies Recipe


2 tablespoons butter

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup honey

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup light brown sugar for decoration (optional)

2 eggs

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda


Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the honey and vanilla. Combine the brown sugar, eggs, flour, baking soda and baking soda mix well. Stir into the creamed mixture. Roll the dough into walnut sized balls. Place cookies 1 1/2 inches apart on the prepared cookie sheets. Dust with brown sugar decoration if desired.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cookie comes out clean. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes. Remove from cookie sheets to wire racks to cool completely. Allow cookies to cool completely before removing from waxed paper.
