7 cups bread flour
1 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 cup warm milk
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
6 cups bread cubes
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
3 egg whites
Put the flour and sugar into a large bowl. Stir in milk and egg; pour into a well dressed large bowl. Mix together the warm milk, egg, oil and bread cubes.
Turn the meringue pieces so that they are edge to edge. Place bowl in a pan of warm water and pour in egg whites. Bring water to a boil, cover, and cook until stringy, but do not brown. Serve warm cut into squares.
