1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 tablespoons canola oil
2 teaspoons paprika
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons dried minced onion
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
3 tablespoons white sugar
1/2 pound skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
Heat oil in a skillet or frying pan over medium heat.
Saute chicken pieces for 5 minutes, then remove from pan. Transfer chicken pieces to a large bowl and mixing them with the oil and paprika. Season with garlic powder, onion, salt, oregano, basil and sugar. Pour chicken mixture into skillet or frying pan. Cover and simmer over medium heat for 2 minutes.
Bake uncovered at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 25 minutes, or until chicken is no longer pink.
Remove skillet from hot oil, pour out mixture and coat well with brown sugar. Fry chicken pieces in oil for 5 minutes on each side, or until golden and chicken is cooked through.
Absolutely destroyed my Bunsen burners this way was so excitingh Cathy loved it.. but I put the sake and beer in the fridge to figure out how to make it more subtle. I will definrete *that=), and will even give props to the Japanese Restaurant for improving on the recipe.
