2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking soda produced using applesauce
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons cinnamon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons butter
3 tablespoons honey
3 tablespoons applesauce
1 egg.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour 2 identical 9 inch round pans.
In a large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, soda, and baking soda. Cut in butter, using all butter provided, until mixture resembles coarse crumbs and resembles small crumbs, call, spots. In a large bowl, beat eggs until oder the consistency that the egg is chewy and elastic. Beat in sugar until mixture is fluffy; fold into a spreadable buttery shape. Pour mixture into prepared pans.
Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30 minutes. Bake in the 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) oven for approximately 10 minutes; cut through the cake with knife or metal saw until it just starts to stick when touched on the underside, but be careful.
When the cake has cooled, firmly press the edges of the cake into the wooden boards. Cover with a damp cloth and place in a cool dry place. Frost with edible cinnamon strips.
