1 pound lean ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons hot pepper sauce
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
8 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese
2 cups shredded lettuce
1 cup shredded tomato
1 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained
1 (16 ounce) can tomato paste
1 (8 ounce) can tomato juice
1 (8 ounce) can tomato paste with green chile peppers
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and onions. Drain excess fat. Stir in garlic powder, salt, pepper sauce, Worcestershire sauce, cheese and lettuce. Top with tomato, bell pepper, green bell pepper and mushrooms.
Cook over high heat for 10 minutes, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer 30 minutes more, stirring occasionally, until juices are reduced.
