2 cups butter
2 (17 ounce) packages utility pine candy mix
1/2 cup white sugar
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup light brown sugar
1 cup raisins
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in sugar and brown sugar and heat to a low heat. Stir in water and sugar mixture until well blended; reduce heat to medium-low and simmer 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in raisins. Cook, stirring constantly, until all raisins are completely absorbed. Remove from heat and stir in the shortening and melted butter or margarine. Cool until cool enough to handle, about 1 hour.
