1/3 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup white sugar
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup dry bread crumbs
1/2 cup butter
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a medium bowl, combine butter, sugar, oats, chocolate chips and bread crumbs. Stir until smooth. Spread batter evenly into prepared casserole dish.
In a small bowl, stir together egg, vanilla extract and confectioners' sugar. Place 1 cup of sauce in a shallow dish or bowl; top with remaining 2 cups of sauce.
Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes. Uncover the cake and top with remaining 1 cup of sauce.
