My Grandma's Shoo-Fly Pie Recipe

Ingredients

1 (9 inch) prepared chocolate cookie crumb crust

3 egg whites

1/2 teaspoon white sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 (7 ounce) can crushed crumbles

2/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).

To Make Crust: In a large bowl, combine egg whites and sugar. Stir in vanilla and cracked crumbles. Roll dough into 1 inch balls and place onto a prepared cookie sheet.

To Make Filling: In a medium bowl, combine crushed crumbles with sifted dry ingredients.

Roll ball of dough into 1 inch balls and roll in 1/2 cup of chocolate dough. Cut balls with cookie cutters and arrange cookies 1 inch apart.

Bake for 12 to 15 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.

Looks & tastes gourmet, but is so easy! I used unflavored dental floss to easily roll the shapes. I used store bought bitters and cracked black pepper. They were the perfect blend of flavor and appearance. I will make these again!
