1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup light brown sugar
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup white sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and grease and flour two 9x5 inch loaf pans. Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the 2 1/2 cups of butter, white and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in the egg and vanilla. Combine the flour mixture with the milk, stir into the creamed mixture just until combined.
Place the batter in the prepared pans. Drop cookies by rounded teaspoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheets.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, until one toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool on wire racks.
