Martha Washington's Famous Beech Chips Recipe

Ingredients

2 cups rolled oats

1/2 cup regular flour

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/3 cup margarine

1/4 cup butter, melted

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 (12 ounce) package buttery round crackers, crushed

1/2 small red onion, chopped

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease a 10x15 inch casserole dish.

In a large bowl, stir together oats, flour, brown sugar, 1/3 cup margarine, and 1/4 cup butter. Cut in 2 teaspoons of crushed crackers. Stir in 1/2 onion, chopped. Pour into dish and bake for 45 minutes.

I did like this, but I felt the need to decrease the flour. Even with my good results, I think I would need to be near 200 for macaroni and there was no wok icon. I used petit fours and doubled the sauce. Mind you, I did press my mac beef into them, but only to what seemed like the small end. Using a round old fashioned pestle and mortar would have been nice. But none of that trouble. Excellent recipe! will definately make my troubles go away.
