1/2 cup crushed buttery round crackers
3 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon sugar
2 teaspoons minced onion
2 green onions, sliced
1 tablespoon soy sauce
3 liquid ounces hot water
In a 2 quart saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and stir it thoroughly. Combine the jam, sugar, onion, green onions and soy sauce. Bring just to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 2 minute. Stir in hot water and simmer, covered, until all 2 minutes have passed, uncovered, and the base has set nearly-dry, about 2 to 3 hours.
