2 (18.25 ounce) cans crushed chocolate wafers, divided
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 large walnut, chopped
5 white mini candied walnuts
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Method 1: In a medium saucepan over simmering water, combine butter or margarine and 1 cup sugar. Heat, stirring, until melted and smooth. Remove from pan and stir in vanilla and walnut. Let cool for 1 minute. Cut into squares a half-cup width-wise. Place candied walnuts on an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake in preheated oven for 5 to 7 minutes, until lightly set. Cut each square into three wedges then press wrappers into waxed paper. Cool for 1 minute then remove from baking sheet. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
