1 cup cornmeal
1 cup white sugar
2 cups water
1 1/2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
1 cup cooking syrup
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup milk
In a medium bowl, combine cornmeal, sugar, and 1 cup water. In a small mixing bowl, dissolve flour, brown sugar, and salt in water. Stir in cornmeal mixture. Bring to a boil; decrease heat to low. Heat 2 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in milk until thoroughly blended. Return coffee mixture to stove. Place about 2 inches off heat, as close to bowl as possible. Let mixture simmer 2 minutes, spoon cold cornmeal mixture over mixture periodically, until thick. Stir in remaining 2 cup water and salt and whisk until thickened. Add chocolate chips and cook until melted.
