1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups milk
2 tablespoons milk
1 (1 ounce) cake or fruit twist
1 1/2 cups sweetened brown sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour 2 9-inch round cake pans.
In a large bowl, mix dry ingredients. Stir 5 minutes.
In a large bowl, cream 1/2 cup of butter, 2 egg yolks and 2/3 cup milk. Mix gently until mixture is creamy; mix in flour mixture.
Stir into cake batter; coat thoroughly. Roll into 1 1 inch balls and place in pans.
Bake with the wings flapping up over the top of the loaf. Cool completely and cut into bars.
