2 apples, peeled and thinly sliced
3 cups water
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
1/2 cup butter
2 tablespoons honey
Place apples in a large pitcher of water. Add lemon juice, lemon zest and butter, stirring well to prevent overcooking. Add honey, and continue stirring until apple mixture is clear. Pour apples into another pitcher.
Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, and boil for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring regularly. Return to a boil and heat for about 1 minute. Stirring to prevent sticking, pour into serving platter. Top with remaining lemon peel and parve cracked black pepper out of pan.
