Beef Roast Dinner Recipe

Ingredients

1 pound lean ground beef

1 pound lean ground pork

1 1/2 cups water

1 egg

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

2 teaspoons paprika

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon white sugar

1 teaspoon vegetable oil

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon poultry seasoning

2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

6 slices bacon

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1/8 teaspoon dried marjoram

1/8 teaspoon dry minced onion

6 (10 ounce) cans stewed tomatoes

1/4 small 4 ounce onions, chopped

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

In a large stockpot, heat water to boiling. Add beef, pork and water; cook for 10 to 12 minutes per side. Stir to prevent sticking. Remove from heat and let stand for 10 minutes.

Combine egg, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, sugar, oil and Worcestershire sauce. Stir in coarse seasoning; pour over meat and pork. Season with salt, poultry seasoning, Worcestershire sauce and bacon. Place pan in oven to broil for 30 minutes. Return to oven to broil for 20 minutes.

Return pan to oven for 10 to 15 minutes, broil meat a few inches from hot grate to prevent sticking. As the meat juices run clear, stir in tomatoes, onions and 4 ounces of beef mixture.

Remove foil from pan. Sprinkle with spices and bacon. Brush foil off pork. For meat ring, broil meat ring uncovered for 3 to 5 minutes, or until no longer pink in center.

Broil meat in foil for 2 minutes to reduce casserole's casserole-like smells. Serve with tomato sauce and bacon drippings, if desired.

I am not a fan of cardamom but it is awesome in this recipe. I think the dough needs a little salt since it's our new home but I'll try next time.

It's delicious. But watch out for the garlic. Too much can be a bad thing.
