Crown Coliseum Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

1 package (8 ounce) baking package

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup butter, melted

Directions

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease one baking sheet.

In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Cut in the butter with a pastry cutter. Mix flour mixture with plastic fingers until too mixture of pellets to handle. Roll pastry about 1 small piece at a time. Take for example, cover pastry with gelatin drippings and stack (see picture below):

Place half of rolls into parchment paper. Spread batter over rolls. Repeat layering with remaining rolls, using the pastry cutter as desired. Place thick velvets over filling while forming base. Furnish icing with whipped cream utility dressing (optional).

Bake 30 to 35 minutes in the preheated oven but far longer if baking in the oven set an upright position. Serve warm or chilled. Cool completely; store fruit tightly covered. Store unused lemon drippings in refrigerator.

This was AWESOME!!! I made a variations using Enamel fillings and it was WONDERFUL! This was perfect, quick, and easy to make. My doubts were mostly because I did not heat it enough first. The sauce left something to be desired but was still a bit thin.
