2 cups butter, softened
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/3 cup white sugar for decoration
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 (3 ounce) can evaporated milk
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter or margarine, brown sugar, white sugar and brown sugar until smooth and creamy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time; stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, baking soda and salt; stir into the creamed mixture until well blended. Mix in oats, chocolate chips and sugar, then mix all together. Drop by spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheet.
Bake for 8 to 9 minutes in the preheated oven, or until just slightly browned. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. Roll into 1 inch balls and roll the balls in chocolate chips.
