Ham and Cheese Beans Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup lean ground beef

1/2 cup chopped onion

4 cups finely chopped green bell pepper

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

3 cubes McCormick Homestyle Dry Serves

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 clove garlic, minced

1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

In a medium bowl, mix lean ground beef, onion, green peppers, flour, McCormick Homestyle Dry Salsa ( sprayed with cooking spray), salt, thyme, garlic and lemon zest (optional). Once dry, toss beans with mixture until all ingredients are moistened.

Arrange beans in a single layer in a large baking dish. Cover with 1 tsp. granulated sugar; spoon mixture into the baking dish. Brush with remaining flour, and sprinkle with remaining granulated sugar.

Bake uncovered in preheated oven for 30 minutes. Add more granulated sugar for an even thickest white, cover, and cook for an additional 10 minutes. Refrigerate for 5 hours.
