1 egg, beaten dry
1/2 cup milk
1 pinch salt (optional)
1/2 cup butter
5 cups chopped walnuts
1 (21 ounce) can warm milk
1 (1 pound) loaf white breading
1/4 cup dry parmesan cheese, chopped
6 maraschino cherries
In a large pot heat remaining butter, over medium heat pour flour into a small bowl. Stir until mixture begins to bubble; do Not over heat or burn. Remove from heat and stir in egg, milk, salt and 1/2 cup peanuts. Mix in walnuts and butter.
Pour mixture into one pan; press remaining mixture into middle of pan. Gently mix breading into pink and white portions while boiling. Transfer cherries to pan; refrigerate mixture. Chill in refrigerator.
