3 tablespoons olive oil
2 onions, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 (14 ounce) can pitas with meat
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon white sugar
1 tablespoon dried rosemary, crushed
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tablespoons salt
12 slices Cheddar cheese
16 ounces Swiss cheese, sliced
Heat oil in a large skillet over very high heat. Saute onions in the olive oil for about 5 minutes, or until tender. With an electric mixer, vigorously mix in the garlic and chili powder. Cook 2 minutes, stirring well. Spoon the mixture into a large hot oil pressible base, and press it into the center of each piece of pork.
Mix salt, sugar, rosemary, flour and salt in a large mixing bowl. Shape the mixture into a 1 inch ball. Roll out to cover all pork pieces in the pan. Brush the bottom of the pork with 1 slice of cheese, fold in and top with the sausage and adjust according to your favorite sauce.
Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 30 minutes, or until well browned on all sides.
