2 tablespoons lemon zest
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 cup white wine
4 (3 ounce) packages Italian bread doughnut mix
Place zest of lemon zest in a large bowl. Stir lemon juice and honey until thoroughly blended. Add white wine. Mix until well coated. Place doughnut mix and maraschino cherries into the mixture. Place doughnuts into lined 9-inch layer pan.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Bake for 25 minutes in the preheated oven. Bake for another 10 minutes, on low preheats, and then turn out onto a platter.
