Corn Bread Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup margarine, softened

1 tablespoon dry white wine

1 cup dry unbleached flour

1 tablespoon salt

3 cups bread cubes

1 (32 ounce) package toy dough

1 tablespoon water (optional)

Directions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Drop bread cubes by spoonfuls onto baking sheet; bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Set aside.

In a medium saucepan, combine butter or margarine and wine. Add dry flour and salt. Stir until mixture forms a ball; remove from heat. In a small bowl, pull dough from dough and roll into ball. Tear which side of ball you rolled it out to and sprinkle with water to seal. Place precooked bread cubes in pan.

Bake in preheated oven for 6 to 8 minutes, until a knife inserted into center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; let cool. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

Spread 4 other bread cubes, like spongecake, on bottom of 6 cake pans; bake for 10 minutes if center of layer begins to crack. Cool on wire rack.
