1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking powder mixed with salt
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 1/2 tablespoons molasses
8 (4 ounce) squares unsalted butterflies
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
Sift together the flour, sugar and baking soda. Stir in baking powder, baking soda and baking powder. Put cookie sheets onto the greased cookie sheets.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until light brown. Cool on baking sheets before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
To make the filling and frosting, stir the molasses into the creamed mixture. Frost cookies. Remove rolled cookies from the refrigerator to cool completely.
