1 cup water
3/4 cup uncooked white rice
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 1/2 cups uncooked white rice
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup cooked egg, lightly beaten
1 (8 ounce) can evaporated milk
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup chopped onion
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Stir in rice, reduce heat to medium heat and cook for 5 minutes. Drain, stir in nutmeg and salt and pepper; cook for 5 minutes.
In a large bowl, mix pasta, rice, oregano and salt and pepper. Mix sauce and egg, then stir into rice mixture. Mix together butter and onion; sprinkle over pasta mixture in small bowls.
Bake in preheated oven for 55 to 60 minutes.
