3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
3/4 cup butter flavored shortening
1 cup evaporated milk
3 eggs
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup milk
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
Sift the flour into a large bowl, and combine with baking soda, baking powder and vanilla to form a shallow dough. Cover, and refrigerate overnight.
Sift the dark cocoa mixture into another large bowl. Separate chocolate pieces, and place 8 inches apart on bottom and sides of 8 cookie sheets. Roll dough into a log, and set about 1 inch apart on cookie sheet.
Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Remove them from racks of plates. Slowly turn cookies onto paper towels, covering completely. Cool on racks and store in an airtight container. Serve instantly.
